in ten years. The Timbers also play in PGE Park. Their opening game of the 2001
season is against the Patriots in El Paso and their home opener is on Friday,
May 11, against the Seattle Sounders. It appears that the A League
teams are all affiliated with one or more MSL team, with Portland being
affiliated with the Kansas City Wizards, the San Jose Earthquake and the Los
Angeles Galaxy.

HOCKEY
The Portland Winterhawks of the
predominantly Canadian WHL just finished
regular season play and are heading into the playoffs. The Winterhawks play in
both the Rose Garden and the nearby Memorial Coliseum. This year the Hawks
celebrated twenty-five years of service to their fans and the community.
