When you plan a trip to Oregon for golfing, Golf Magazine's site is a super reference point to get the highlights of the nearly 200 courses. It lists all the contact information, fees, cart, caddy and trail information, restaurant and bar availability and dress codes. The piece of information that I'd like to see included is driving directions to the course itself.
Book Review: Golfing in Oregon. 10th
Ed.
In 1990, Daniel MacMillan of MAC
Productions, published the First Edition of "Golfing in Oregon and from what I can see, he's mastered the course! From the first tee (the beautiful cover photo of Bandon Dunes Golf Course) to the 19th hole (the
numerous indexes of courses in Oregon) this book is a hole in one.
MacMillan shows where the courses are by map, geographical index, alphabetic index, and regional index. Each of the course descriptions includes a graphical layout of each hole with yardage information, driving directions, address and
contact information, fees, rating/slope, cart and trail information, reservation policy, winter conditions, and amenities available. In addition, it lists driving ranges and golf specialty shops.
The book is sized to easily fit in a golf bag and for my money this is a perfect companion for any golf trip to Oregon.
