Krisby Kreme is coming to a Store Near You© Reginald Vickers
For the past 6 months, I have been working the second shift. It hasn't been too bad but I am ready to be on the same shift as Joyce. Recently, I discovered a new reason to work days- Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Of course I have eaten Krispy Kremes doughnuts years ago, when I first returned to my North Carolina roots. But that was years ago. Recently, one morning when I filled in for a fellow employee on the day shift, I left the house without breakfast. It seemed odd but I never noticed the 57 Krispy Kreme outlets between home and work. I assumed that this was because they didn't appeal to me in the afternoon or maybe they weren't even open. I stopped at the one closest to my home and picked up a nice chocolate covered creme filled (not that custard stuff). I thought this would be great to tie me over until lunch. By the time I put the car in drive, I took the doughnut out of the bag and took my first bite. Hmm, I didn't remember their doughnuts being so good. I pulled out of the parking lot and circled around the building. I stopped out front and ran into the store once again, purchasing my second doughnut.
That morning my 40 minute drive took me close to 2 hours and 45 minutes. I stopped at 21 of the 57 doughnut places. I put away 13 chocolate creme filled, 4 powdered lemon filled, 3 glazed, and 1 jelly filled. I was stuffing my face. And the funniest part of this story is when I finally got to work (2 hours late), someone had brought in Krispy Kreme doughnuts! I couldn't help myself - I had two more. Since that day I have been so excited about going to days! I can see myself every morning, stopping at Krispy Kreme and having a doughnut and a coffee, then going down the road a couple of miles and having a doughnut and coffee, and then going down the road a couple of miles.... Even though this article is about shopping on the Internet, Krispby Kreme does not have a way of ordering doughnuts, but they may be opening up a store near you. Check it out at http://www.krispykreme.com/. A matter of fact, I assumed I would find someone who had opened an online doughnut shop- I spent weeks searching on the Internet and never found one. You can order cakes, pies, chocolates, and almost anything on the internet...but no doughnuts. So if there are no doughnut shops on the Internet, this leads me to a question- where do the cyperpolice hang out at? Go To Page: 1
