Home Decor- Not Like It Use to Be

Last week, I began our series on Internet shopping for home furnishings. As I was surfing through the Internet this week, I was surprised how many furnishing sites actually appealed to the male shopper. The more I thought about this, the more I realized that my Pop never cared about home decorations. Now this was not to say that he wasn't involved in the decorations in some way. Normally Momma would see something in a magazine and ask Pop to do it. Being the great husband that he is and loved an impossible project, he would do it.

But while growing up, I can not remember one time hearing my Pop say, "You know, honey, I think we should move the couch over there." Not once did I ever hear my Pop say, "Don't you think pink throw would look better with the lavender couch?" I don't even think I heard my Pop say, "Let's paint the bathroom to match the color of my new shower curtain." A matter of fact, I am just as sure that Pop never went shopping for shower curtains. Pop never has worried about motif, color schemes, nor style. Now, Mama, that's a different story. But I do have to admit that at least Momma always stuck to one style- classic Tupperware (as a very successful Tupperware manager, everything in our house she earned in Tupperware contests).
