Another One Bites the Dust

This has been a tough year for many online retailers. Many businesses had put their hopes in a successful 2000 Christmas season, only to find they fell short, and for most, way short. Some of these businesses had been around since the early part of the popularity of the Internet. Pets.com comes to mind as becoming a "branded" name for Internet shopping. Yet despite spending millions of dollars on advertising, it never attracted the sales it needed to pull itself into a successful operation. Yet to me the biggest surprise of terminated businesses has to be the closure of Andy's Garage Sale . I've been involved in the online shopping experience for many years and this is one site that I felt would be around longer than computers. As a consumer they offered all the ingrediants for staying power: quality products at liquidation prices shipped at affordable rates, with the best customer service a person could ask for. It has been one of my favorite shopping sites for years. I feel as if I'm losing a friend. Enough sentiments. Because as Andy's Garage Sale goes out of business, he is offering up even greater deals with his "Going out of business sale". If you miss these deals, you will have missed the greatest shopping experience on the Internet. Here you will find something for everyone. From electronics (Kenwood 200 disc CD player for $99.88) to household items (comforters for $14.99) to tools (Makita cordless drill for $39.88). So long Andy. Thanks for all the money you've saved my readers and myself. We'll miss you.
