So You Want to Get Married- Elope! And other Wedding Suggestions

This past weekend I gained a new sister-in-law as my brother Randy and his new bride Valerie were married. Yet this weekend was more than just about adding another person onto my Christmas list (and having to attempt to remember their birthday), it was about gaining new insights into life. A matter of fact, I made three new discoveries in the midst of the wedding madness. First, I discovered that I am very thankful that Joyce and I chose to elope 9½ years ago. People were running around and worrying over little things like, if there was enough air in the balloons to make sure they were all equal in size, or if the geese might interrupt the outdoor ceremony. The air was thick with tension, as there was every attempt to make everything so perfect. Of course you know it was going to be a perfect and beautiful wedding no matter what they did. That's because they love each other and are a happy couple. Now Randy and Valerie weren't as stressed as other couples I have heard of. There was a bride who murdered her husband to-be just because he messed up on the wedding arrangements. Most couples don't go that far but many do begin their marriage in turmoil and chaos over the wedding plans. I guess it is a true test of love. My advice though: it's a whole lot more peaceful when you elope. Besides, There will be plenty of time for turmoil later. Second, it was an opportunity to find new ways to shop. You see I had never purchased a wedding gift on the Internet before. I didn't even know where to begin. I looked through the gift ideals that I had found a few weeks ago, but I didn't quite find what I was looking for. My next choice was The Wedding Page at Altavista.com . Here you can find everything from Wedding planning ideas to wedding party gifts. But I still did not find what I was looking for. Next, I just took a stab at typing in http://www.Wedding.com. It would have made shopping for them so much easier if Randy and Valerie would have known about this site before. They could have registered all their patterns and even had their own wedding web site. It's well worth the effort for any couple that you know that might be planning to walk the aisle. (Must be a lot of people getting married, because this site did seem slow.)
