Year 2000: Healthy, Wealthy, & Wise- I'll Settle for Healthy!

Joyce and I have an annual tradition that we do on January first. We sit down and write our goals and dreams and plans for the next year. (That is the extent of planning our life.) Each year after we make this list, it mysteriously disappears. This is especially true if the words "build", "remodel", or "diet" exist on that list somewhere. Then around Christmas time, that lists seems to reappear. Yet despite my lack of motivation, amazingly many of those ideas and dreams that we had written down are fulfilled. No matter how outrageous that goal was when we had written it, somehow it gets accomplished. (This is true in every area except those that have the words "build", "remodel", or "diet" with them). On our list, we have no limits. It may consist of purchases, personal improvements, accomplishments at home and/or at work, and spiritual growth. There are three things that our list almost always contains: 1) being healthy, 2) saving money; and 3) trying to take over the world (sorry, too much Pinky and the Brain). Being healthy is just a camouflage that Joyce uses to say diet and exercise. (Just typing those words makes my skin crawl and my fat jiggle.) If you make resolutions or do something similar, you might find that we share many of the same needs, desires, wants, and "have to's". I won't share with you our whole list, since, for some odd reason, I can't find it at this time. But I will show you how you can use the Internet to accomplish that goal of becoming healthy in the year 2000. On nearly everyone's yearly list you will find diet, exercise, healthy eating, and just being good to yourself towards the top. You can find numerous web sites that pertain to these subjects. First, I recommend that you check out the expert suggestions from Suite101's very own Joanne Eglash. Joanne writes a weekly article on Fitness and Nutrition at http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/diet.... She has over 20 years writing experience and will give you sensible advice on how to get and stay healthy. Another suggestion is to subscribe to an email service at http://www.tipworld.com/ which will deliver daily information directly to your email box. You may be saying to yourself, that's all good and fine but this article is suppose to be about Internet shopping. I want to buy something. Well, I just received a SPAM that is titled "AMAZING MELT AWAY FAT ABSORBER CAPSULES". I'm sure they would be happy to take your money. But if you're looking for healthy choices, then you will want to go to
