I Missed You! I Missed You Not! I Missed You! I Missed You Not!

If you have been reading my articles these past few weeks, you have heard me whine and complain about not having a computer. Now multiply those shrills of discontentment by the minutes in the day and you will realize what my poor wife had to go through. Even the dog didn't want to be in the same room as me. Actually, my lamentations became less distressful as time went on. After the first week, I only cried at night. Not having a computer for three weeks actually gave me a new perspective on life. First, I realized I had a family. My wife and I really do have some things in common. We even practiced that rare art of communication. I found little repairs that needed to be done around the house. I sang as I fixed the clogged sink. This wasn't so bad after all. The colors that surrounded me were more vibrant than what I found on my computer using a Viper V770 Ultra video card. I spent many a quiet evenings on the screened-in porch, overlooking the mountains. I probably would not have done this if I had my computer. I found out that there is this green stuff out side that I step on called grass (and it needed to be mowed). I found that I could spend more than a quick 5-minute devotional with God and that time just vanished as I rediscovered His word. You see, up to this point, I would spend about 20 minutes a day writing my articles, an hour a day reading my email, and 4 hours a day tweaking my computer so it would perform halfway decently. As of today, I have a computer that works- no tweaking necessary (and yes, that could have been what was really wrong with the old computer was all the tweaking that I did, we just won't tell my wife that!). I now remember what computers were made for- to make our lives easier. To free us up so we could have spend more time with our relationships. Somehow this got lost in all the exploration of information on the Internet. Shopping on the Internet can save you time (and even money) if you go about it the right way. I suggest you start at http://www.albany.net/~tiacat/Refunding/... . Here you will find all sorts of discounts and coupons available for you to use as you shop on the Internet. Using a consumer service like http://www.consumerworld.org will help you to educate yourself about the good, the bad, and the ugly of the Internet. Plus, you will find a great product search engine here, where all you have to do is type in what you're looking for and it will give you the best price available. My last suggestion is a site that I have suggested before: http://presentpicker.com . This site is great, if you don't know what you're looking for and just want someone to shop for you.
