If I were completely honest when I wrote my resume, it would contain as many pages as "War and Peace." You might say, "I have had a few jobs." One of these jobs was working for Artistic Impressions, a home art sales program. I had always loved art, yet my love was limited to Impressionistic and Renaissance. While working with Artistic Impressions, my eyes were opened to some of the most passionate and colorful art, African art. As we continue with our around the world shopping adventure, we head to Africa. No doubt the greatest storytellers of our time can be found here, where legends have been passed on through word-of-mouth, music, festivals, and art. This comes across as we begin our shopping. Below are the links that I have discovered and a small description of each site. If you take your time and go through each site, your eyes will be opened to a new culture and experience that you will never forget. http://www.rootsworld.com/rw/villagepuls... - brings traditional African music to your CD player. http://uslink.net/~ddavis/ - Shop Marrakesh Express, your on-line source for Moroccan rugs and pillows. http://www.ossewa.co.za/ - This site offers African antiques and collectibles including jewelry, arts and crafts, and ceramics. http://www.intramall.co.za/ - When shopping you have to visit at least one mall. Here you will find links to other shopping sites and to other malls. http://www.cannons.co.za/ - Cannon & Cannon Auction House provides an opportunity for you to purchase antiques from other cultures for your home. http://www.beezybailey.co.za/ Beezy Bailey is a contemporary artist whose "fun" work includes ceramics, garments, and other unusual items. http://www.cyberjack.co.za/africanart/ Exceptional African Art Distributors offers one of a kind sculptures and other crafts. http://www.gna.be/ - The Gallery of Native Art offers unique and exquisite antiques. Their self-description states: "Our online gallery shows our finest objects that we have collected throughout the years. We were able to obtain statues from Royal Families and Chieftains, mainly from Cameroon and Congo (Zaire) and due to our good relations with these prominent members of society our collection still keeps growing, so the site will be updated every month. The company went on the Internet to show the beauty of the African art to a wider public and currently the Gallery has around 100 pieces of valuable antiques (the oldest 500-550 years) from several tribes in 11 African countries, mainly from the palaces of the Chiefs-Kings." http://home.earthlink.net/~hotleggs/bask... - brings baskets from remote villages to the world.
