Shopping- South American Style

As a child, it was not always easy to fulfill my addiction to shopping. Since I couldn't drive I had to rely on my dad or mom to take me everywhere. It was this barrier that drove me to the use of catalogs. I loved browsing through catalogs (and did at every chance I could). My desires drove me to obtaining more catalogs. In the back of Popular Science was a classified section that gave me every opportunity to do so. It did not matter if it was a catalog of scientific apparatuses or of tractor accessories. It didn't matter if it contained things I wanted or desired. I just loved shopping and catalogs were my venue. One summer I received a catalog that I would never forget. I don't remember how I got it, but my name was on it. The catalog came from Brazil. It didn't have any pictures and it was only a few pages, but it certainly did let the imagination of a little boy run wild. The catalog listed about a hundred or so different kinds of animals and their prices. It contained everything from monkeys to giraffes to pumas to macaws. This catalog gave me a dream that one day I could become a modern day Noah or have my own zoo. (I had two older brothers so it couldn't be too different.) Even though that dream has not yet been fulfilled, it did give me an imagine of what it must be like to live in Brazil. Years later, I met a missionary to Brazil. From that encounter, I realized that all the exotic colors and wildlife that I envisioned in South America were all true. As we continue our series on shopping the Internet with a worldwide flavor, we drop into the world of exotic colors, lush history, and handcrafted beauty. Pack your bags as we travel deep into South America (and a few stops in the Caribbean along the way). Argentina will be our first stop. Therefore, I recommend that you learn the language of Buenos Aires. Spanish? No. Portuguese? No. English? Definitely not! Well, what is it, you ask? Tango! You don't have to speak verbally to the Argentineans. But if you can Tango, you will win their hearts. Start your adventure at http://www.tangogift.com.ar/. Here you will learn the universal language of dance and love. Now that you can speak the language you need to dress the part. To find the latest styles from Peru, check out http://www.incaarts.com/artesdelsol.htm and then click on clothes. While you are here you will find more than clothes. Prices are great for the tapestries.
