Buying for The "Other" Children- Pets

Dec 8, 1998 - © Reginald Vickers

I'm sorry I haven't been answering my e-mail like I should. So today I want to start a series of answering your "On-Line Shopping" questions. The first one is from Cletus Collins:

Dear Mr. Vickers,

I appreciate the good advice on shopping. I have followed your directions to the tee. Last week I bought something from an auction that I always dreamed of - The Acme Gas Powered Rocking Hammock. I did it just like you said. Two minutes from the close OldBilly@IOL.com out bid me but I kept my cool. I entered my bid and with 15 seconds left I hit the "Submit" button and won. I couldn't have done it without your advice.

You have touched on every area including what I should buy for CindyBob. I believe she's gonna like those Pink Flamingos. But I am stumped when it comes to Elizabeth. She has been in the family for 15 years and we love that sow. She does everything with us. She even has her own place set at the table. She sleeps in bed with us and, even though she weighs 400 pounds, we couldn't sleep without her. Where can I find the perfect Christmas Present for our little girl.

Forever shopping, Cletus Collins

Dear Cletus,

First, let me defend myself and my reputation by stating that I never recommended Pink Flamingos to anyone. But I'm sure CindyBob will be happy just the same. Now you didn't come out and say who or what Elizabeth is. You're not talking about your mother-in-law, right? I'm guessing this is a real pig. Well, Cletus, you're not the only one who has written about where to find presents for their pets. Here are a couple of places I would recommend.

For your little girl and the other little pigs of the world, I have found a few recommendations. If you are good parents you take her for walks on a daily basis. Well, a Pig Harness from Changing Horizons would be the perfect choice. But, if Elizabeth is a little more into style she might like Pig E-Z All-weather Coat to show off her beautiful figure.

For my feline friends, I have found the purrr-fect gift: A Remote Control Mouse from Aardvark Pets. Now if you want your kitty to really live, then you have to get the Jungle Cat-O-Gym from Me-Ow-Trageous.

Our Minature Shar-Pei is not a dog. And if you have a four legged friend in your household you'll know what I'm talking about. There is only one thing that makes Sammy happy - Food. You can choose a very special treat from The Canine Cookie Company, which offers a nice selection of goodies. Maybe your pooch is royalty like ours and you need to find that outfit that will make the other dogs howl. Try Classic Coats Custom Dogwear on for size (no pup intended). Each coat is handmade. They also do costumes. For the active dog, you can't do without the Hiking Boots for Dogs.
