Cost effective promotion through pay-per-click search engines
With this type of marketing you pay for your position within the listings for the keyword you choose while setting up, maintaining or updating your account. Whether someone clicks on your link depends on the description you attached to the link. Try using a call to action within your description. Monitoring of your position should be done regulary since this type of marketing consistently changes. The money you bid on some keywords may need to be revised to increase your ranking or save you money if the people above or below you have a bid not close to your bid. Tracking your listings should be done by using different links for different keywords. For example, if you choose the keyword "Orlando" try using http://www.yoursite.com/orlando and if you're also chosen "Vancouver" use http://www.yoursite.com/vancouver. Using pay-per-click search engines is one of the easiest ways to get listed on the major search engines. Eventually all of the major search engines will employ a pay for inclusion/placement within their listings. Although this method is the easiest, it may be the most expensive for some keywords. For example within the top pay-per-click search engine Goto.com, you will have to pay above $1.61 to be ranked #1 for the keyword "Orlando." You pay everytime someone clicks on your $1.61 link regardless of whether they click on it from goto.com, AOL or Altavista. 1. To remain in top position you must consistently monitor your position and change your bids accordingly. 2. To ensure someone clicks on your link, write a catchy title with a description that appeals to the emotions of the reader. 3. A few pay-per-click search engines to get you on your way to profitability (in no particular order) - Goto.com (I use for my clients) - Findwhat.com (I use for my clients) - Bay9.com - Goclick.com Good luck, Chris
