Sponsored backgrounds

I've seen this advertising avenue awhile back but maybe it was just someone toying with an idea. Actually I've used it on my site in the past just to keep my company name subliminally in the background if someone decided to print off a page. The new way as seen but unseen is unobtrusive advertising or slight branding in it's cleanest sense. Getting to the point - this is just a sponsorship idea where a company purchases an advertisement (your background space) on your site to reinforce their well known name. There was a program called background image changer that could be used to rotate the sponsored background image. Unfortunately I couldn't find it but you can use a simple include file to do the same thing. Below is a link to a nice tutorial on include files. http://sncnet.snc.edu/webdev/instruction...

The good - Brand your own site or sell it as ad space, great tool if someone decides to print your webpages.

The bad - don't make it imposing by making it standout behind the content. You want it subtle. The background image will add load time to your webpages.

See you next month.
