Do you provide alternatives?

We all know that when you're selling items online, conducting surveys or using online forms that you should always list alternatives to paying or contacting you.

Well I just noticed that some users behind some business firewalls had caused my cgi program to spew forth errors. While it works for countless others do you know how many people behind firewalls didn't have the opportunity to receive what you offer. The only way to ensure your success is to make alternatives. Not every person who encounters an error on your website is nice enough to notify you of the problem. What can you do? List alternatives. Here are a few suggestions.

Provide

1. a visible email address on your feedback and/or order pages

2. a phone and/or fax number

3. an alternate form that does not require use of a cgi program

Above all make sure your server tracks the error messages your website generates. Just in case errors are not brought to your attention you will always have an error log to review.
