They'll Pay Me To Try It?

If you have ever used a "Try Me Free" rebate form, you know what I'm talking about...the company will literally reimburse you the full price of the product you have tried. When they put out a new product, whether it's toothpaste, shampoo, or stuffing, the company wants you to try it- and move over to their brand. But most people are brand loyal, meaning they buy the same brand over and over. If you know someone who only buys Cascade dish powder and nothing else, then you know a brand loyal buyer. Companies that come out with new products don't like these people!

So they put out rebate forms that offer to pay you back for trying the product. I have tried all sorts of new items for free, from nail polishes and expensive foundations to new pasta products and boxed dinner kits. It's a great way to help reduce your grocery bill while at the same time getting to try new items.

There are other rebate forms as well- some offer you a smaller amount of cash back, some offer "premiums" (free items, often embossed with the company logo on them, but many times not), and some offer "buy one get one free." There are even liquor rebate forms for trying different brands of liquor. I've even seen forms for free Discovery Channel gift certificates, free Blockbuster gift cards, and free Red Baron pizzas. There's all sorts of offers out there!

Where can you find rebate forms? My favorite site is called Shoppers and Savers. Jane Goldberg owns this company and she is a very prompt and efficient refund form supplier. Her forms range in price from ten cents to a percentage of higher offers, and are all very reasonable. The money you will save far outweighs the small service charge she has. Shoppers and Savers is located at http://www.shoppersandsavers.com/JanesLi... I highly recommend her service!

You can also get forms in your Sunday paper- many times they will be in the Smart Source and Valassis coupon inserts. You can also trade for forms on one of the boards listed on my site, such as MyCoupons or Kachina Web. Wherever you get your rebate forms, be sure to ask about all details. Some are void in certain states, some require certain store receipts, and other restrictions may apply. But overall, it's a fun hobby and can save you some money. Good luck!
