I have been collecting items for my kids' Easter baskets since Christmas. We don't go overboard in my family because we prefer to celebrate the Christian meaning of Easter rather than focusing on the eggs-and-bunnies aspect. But we do give baskets, and here is a listing of what's in them this year. It may give you some ideas, if not for this year, then for next.
1 CD (Christian pop music), $8 through CD club Basket for my 2 yr. old boy 2 Winnie-the-Pooh books, $1.00 each I also have some bagged candy that I bought on clearance after Christmas and Valentine's Day (look for pastel wrappers rather than red and green).I will buy some jelly beans and add some plastic eggs I already have, putting in small candies and some pocket change. I am also making bunny-shaped cookie-pops. No big Easter bunnies this year, since the grandparents usually do those. Most of the items were bought on clearance or on sale. Try drugstores for good sales on candy and novelty items.
