Recycling Just Makes Sense; Don't Discard Based on AgeHere's yet another method that people around the globe are recycling items, only this large group of people--1,358,620 strong with over 2,800 communities worldwide--they exchange items for free--not one red cent! Countries involved in this free exchange of items include the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Mexico, and the UK, among lots of others. The idea is that Harry may have a used but working stove that is taking up room in his basement, while Sally needs a stove so she can make hot meals for her kids. Harry places an ad at freecycle. org, and Sally, being a savvy woman, notes Harry's ad when she checks the list. Or, it may go that Sally places an ad that says she is in need of a stove, and Harry, wanting to be rid of that stove downstairs, sees Sally's ad and thinks he can take care of his dilemma and Sally's too by answering her ad. Pretty neat idea and it must work fairly well to have going on two million members. The more people who join mean the more people who are potential participants in this free-cycling program, and more chances that a greater percenage of needs can be met. It costs nothing to join, nothing to list an ad, nothing to answer an ad, and no fees are to be exchanged by either the ad-placer or the ad-answerer. If there's no current group where you live, no problem; there's a link on the home page to help you begin a group in your area. Here's the link: http://www.freecycle.org/ Recycling people? That's a little trickier and requires more finesse that recycling things--but definitely a topic worth tackling in the near future.
