Disposable Generation? Part 1

My point in all of this is just how easily we, as a group of people, can go from being courted by advertisers and politicians and become instead a target of the people who form public image. It could begin now, with the hotly debated issue of Social Security change. Depending on the sorts of spin lawmakers and lobbyists place on the various sides of the issue of changing the methods used in Social Security, it may well be that an almost unnoticed seed could be planted among the forty-five and under crowd, a seed that speaks of a group of people who time has come and perhaps nearly gone, a group of people so massive that when they become financially needy could drain the resources of our country.

We can't just assume someone else will fight our fight, or that we will always be the folks in white hats just because we have been for so long. Boomers, we have to pay attention, and we have to act when action is called for. The possibility for shifting cultural views is there, and the time may be ripe for it. Don't take my word for it, though, be vigilant yourself.
