interview him or paint his portrait. There is not one proven photograph of him. Dr. McGillicuddy attempted to take a photo of him on his deathbed, but Crazy Horse turned his head away, so you still cannot see what he looks like. One of Crazy Horse’s cousin, named Race Horse, was said to have looked like him. Many pictures were taken of Race Horse and were sold as pictures of Crazy Horse. Some are amusing since they were taken when Race Horse was quite old, an age which Crazy Horse never reached. It is not known where he was buried. He may be buried at Wounded Knee, at the site of the battle there. There is also a site named Crazy Horse Butte near Manderson, which is thought to be his burial site.
