A Toast to June, Ohio Wine Month

June is Ohio Wine Month and The Vintage Wine Festival, to be held on June 22 - 23 in Dublin's Coffman Park, has been cancelled. The Ohio Wine Producers Association will hold "Vintage Ohio" later this summer, though, at Lake FarmPark. You can find out more about that party by calling the wine producers at 800-227-6972.

Sad because the June party was cancelled? The last thing the wine growers want is you crying in your beer. So cheer up and head out to the Dankorona Winery in Aurora this Sunday, June 3, instead. There you'll hear the clink, clink of glasses being raised for a Lake Erie Wine Society Tasting. (Don't you feel better already?)

Participating wineries include Buccia Vineyards, Chalet Debonne Vineyards, Ferrante Winery, Firelands Winery, Claire's Grand River Winery, Harpersfield Vineyard, Johnson Estates, Klingshirn Winery, Markko Vineyard, Old Firehouse Winery, Old Mill Winery, Rolling Hills Winery, St. Joseph Winery, Woodbury Winery, Virant Family Winery, and Viking Vineyards & Winery.

The tasting begins at 2PM and tickets are $15 at the door. ($1 will be refunded if you return your glass after the tasting) Cheese, crackers, bread, and other snack foods will be provided. To get to Dankorona Winery, take Rt. 306 to Treat Rd. The winery address is 155 Treat Road, and you can call them at 330-562-9245.
