copyright 2000 Well, the time has come again for the annual Obsessive Compulsive Foundation Conference. This year it begins Friday morning. My coauthor, Bruce Hyman, Ph.D. and I will be one of the first speakers. After our presentation we will be signing copies of our book, The OCD Workbook, Your Guide to Breaking Free from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. The title of our presentation is "The 8 Keys to Recovery." These keys include proper diagnosis, understanding OCD, acceptance, shame control, family support, medication, cognitive-behavior therapy and preparation for the long haul. After our book signing, Dr. Hyman and I will be free to enjoy the rest of the conference. If you attend my presentation or see me wandering around, introduce yourself. I would love to meet some of my readers! I'll even give you a special sticker so we can all easily find fellow Suite101 people in the crowd. Let's go with a smiling flower sticker. This year's conference promises to be a great one. There will be something for everyone - professionals who treat people with OCD, children, teenagers and adults with OCD, and parents and other family members. Read about the conference at http://ocfoundation.org/ocf1120b.htm The OCF conference will be held in the Chicago area at the Hyatt Regency Woodfield in Schaumberg, Illinois. It is located across from the Woodfield Mall so you can shop when you're not attending the conference. Also in Chicago's "Greater Northwest" is a winery, the North Beach Entertainment Complex, the Chicago Museum, The Windy City Balloon Port, The Brookfield Zoo, Donley's Wild West Town, and Six Flags Great America, Gameworks, Loews Complex, Spring Valley Nature Sanctuary, Motorola Museum of Electronics, NASCAR Racing Venue, Grand Victoria Riverboat Casino. Special rates at the Hyatt Regency Woodland are available to conference attendees who make reservations by July 19, 2000. So . . . see you in Chicago! Go To Page: 1
