What: Nurses Campaign Activity Night 2000 (Nurses Can '00)
When: October 24, 2000 Where: Throughout the U.S. Who: All Nurses (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) Sponsored by the American Nurses Association The big question, why? Because nurses, following our primary role of patient advocate, must take a leading and visible role, in what might well be the most important election year for health care for many years to come. We must join together to help elect the candidates that are going to put health care on the front burner and keep it there. Join your colleagues at a local, state and federal campaign of your choice. We must let the future leaders of this country know that we are professionals, concerned with the health of our country and we represent a strong political force and will. How do you get involved? Call a campaign office and volunteer to work on October 24th. Be sure to let them know you're a nurse. If there is a particular job you have in mind, be sure to let the volunteer coordinator know when you call. For more information you can visit the ANA site at www.nursingworld.org. To learn about the candidates endorsed by the ANA-PAC, you can contact the Senior Political Action Specialist for your region by calling 202-651-7081. Remember Nurses CAN make a difference in 2000.
