I do not mind philosophical differences, or interpretations, of the Constitution. As long as there's no extension beyond the actual words within the Bill of Rights. You can not logically argue with the Bill of Rights. ( For those who are not intellectually conscience of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights are the first ten Amendments.)
Back to the point: Yet, there are those who do. Just as one feels their adultery is justified, so blindly does one believe that the Right to Bare Arms is pointless.
Liberty is described today, as a gift. Granted by a select few (white men) in the late 1700's, whom brought it upon themselves to create a new nation. They are described (today) as hypocrites, rich slave owners, who were ambitious and power hungry. Who cared little for the lives of those who died for their cause. And, released a leach called Capitalism upon the world. Within the modern era, the idea of Liberty is the right to say, and do, anything with the ability to place responsibility upon anything, and anyone, except one's self.
How? How did we come, as a nation, to completely dilute, and defecate, the truest meaning of Liberty? To disregard all logic, all common sense?
So what is Liberty? Well, it is life. The right to it. The right to live within the confines of a society without persecution of any form... subtle and extreme. However, it is also responsibility! The responsibility to exist without harming others, or violating their liberties. Therefore, basic, understandable, laws must be established to maintain a common sense of order, while limiting the confinement of liberty. Liberty may provide the ability to think what ever one wishes to think, but liberty is not an excuse to act out all thoughts.
