Did you wait too long to set the premise and conflict of the novel, and to introduce the reader to the protagonist and antagonist?

Is there the proper balance of action, dramatization, and narrative?

If you were able to answer all these questions satisfactorily, you should have a good beginning to your novel. Next week, we will talk about how middles and how to keep the reader interested while progressing logically toward the conclusion of your novel.
