I have sited my garden running east/west and it is shaded for part of the morning; but receives full sun all afternoon. Because of this, I've planted the flowers so the shorter plants are on the western end of the garden and range in ascending height to the eastern end. Thus, the taller representatives won't shade the shorter ones during the afternoon of sun. You may find this initially utilitarian garden such a delight thatn you'll want to dress it up a bit. I've added paving stones down the middle for a walkway, and a sundial/birdbath at one end. It's pleasant, having a pathway through the garden, and I'm able to get to the flowers without muddying my shoes. However you arrange your cutting garden, it will be a joy for years to come, providing lovely flowers for the house, and a treat for the senses Go To Page: 1 2
