One of the stanzas in her poem Safe in Their Alabaster Chambers was written four different ways, as a result of Susan's feedback and critique. She participated in Emily's writing and it was most likely Susan who caused her few poems to be published during her lifetime.

Open Me Carefully is a collection of letters to Susan Huntington Dickinson. It was published in 1998. This collection is about the friendship between the two women.
