NIN Notes/Living La Vida Video in Mexico

MORE RELEASE DATE RUMORS The latest date being touted for the release of The Fragile is apparently September 21, 1999, according to at least one radio station. Nothing Records had made no official announcement as of this Wednesday. September 21st incidentally happens to be Biosphere Day, and the U.N.'s International Day of Peace.

LIVING LA VIDA VIDEO Seems Like Salvation News is reporting that Trent Reznor has been in sunny Guadalajara, a city in west central Mexico, filming for an upcoming video release, reportedly relating to We're In This Together, a song from the new CD. Not many reports yet on the content of the video. Call me psychic, but I have a feeling there will be a lot of people wearing black in it. And isn't the song title very touchy-feely sounding? Does this portend a kinder gentler Trent video? A Ricky Martinesque erotic dance number? Let's not get our degenerate hopes up.

X MARKS THE SPOT The truth is out there, and finally, this year's edition of Fodor's New Orleans travel guide has it. NIN fans trekking to New Orleans who've been reamed out royally on the internet for asking that verboten question "Where exactly IS Trent Reznor's house?" don't have to risk verbal dismemberment anymore. Fodor's lists the Reznor residence this year in the Garden District at 2425 Coliseum.

An interesting bit of additional info is that it was listed as the Joseph Merrick Jones house. The residence, which was purchased and extensively renovated several years ago by Reznor, originally was owned by Jones, after he moved to New Orleans in the post Civil War era. Jones was a respected physician and professor of medicine at Tulane. He was born in 1833 in Georgia and died in 1896. Various tours have been pointing the house out regularly, but this is the first year it was officially listed in Fodor's. For those who aren't visiting New Orleans, but who are curious about the home, there are some exterior shots of it which I made a couple of years ago and then put up on my website for the benefit of the curious, the timid, and the reamed, as well as the Reznor studio (4500 Magazine Street), a picture of which also appears on the main page of this NIN section of Suite101.com (shown in the upper right hand corner of the screen). You can visit A Warm Place to see my excellent photos, shot under mildly harrowing conditions.

My lips are sealed. There is no way I'm willing to talk. It will blow my credibility sky-high and it was stupid!
