This week at New Zealand Music, we highlight just some of the many web sites which provide a general overview to New Zealand music on the Net.

The Bulls Bus Terminal provides a comprehensive alphabetical index to New Zealand bands' web pages, and you will find most bands with a web site are listed here.

At reaction.co.nz you will also find an alphabetical list of Kiwi bands, as well as a gig guide updated daily and regular contests.

At Kiwi Rock, based on the Kiwi Rock book, there are discographies and biographies of New Zealand groups past and present, as well as several industry related links.

Derek's New Zealand Music Site has lots of information and links related to Dunedin and Flying Nun bands, but of course you can't go wrong with Flying Nun itself, with news, bios and histories of the label's acts. And Simon Dear's KiwiMusic Database also has info and links with a South Island focus.

Those into student radio would do well to visit Auckland's 95bFM, where there is a live web cast of the station on air. However, if you live south of the Bombay Hills, the other stations of the bnet student radio network are Hamilton's Contact, Palmerston North's Radio Massey, Wellington's Active, Christchurch's rdu, and Dunedin's Radio One.

For all the facts on Pacific acts such as Moizna and Losttribe, visit the web site of Phillip Fuemana's Urban Pacifika Records, where you'll find label and band information. And for more details on acts on independent and small labels in New Zealand, check out NZ Unsigned.

On the other hand, if you're one of the crowd who can be found swinging at Auckland jazz bars late at night, visit musician Mark de Clive-Lowe's jazz.co.nz for a guide to New Zealand jazz and Jazzworkshop is also handy for Kiwi jazz fans. Or if you're suffering from a bad case of the blues, visit blues.co.nz.

However, if you're folksy minded, KiwiFolk will be more up your alley, with its guide to folk and acoustic music. But if sitting down with an acoustic guitar for a sing-a-long is not your cup of tea and you're more into the electronic side of things, then visit Obscure.

For a look at two of New Zealand's most successsful songwriters, the Finns, frenz.com is where you should go.

And finally, for the classically inclined, the site of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) is where you should be headed.
