The Feelers: Feeling Their Way To Success - Page 4

Speaking of Australia, I went over to Perth to see Neil Finn and a record shop over there was playing Pressure Man. So, how does it feel that people that far away are playing your music?

"It makes us really, really happy. Like you always enjoy what you're playing and you think 'I wonder if anyone's going to like it?' Then nothing kind of happens and your friends tells you it's good, but you just think, 'but you're my mate,' but then these people you don't know are getting into it and you start to have a lot of faith in yourself. It's really gratifying to know that it is actually considered good by a lot of people, because you read all the things in the paper in and there's people bagging you and it really upsets you. They don't consider how insensitive it is because it really, really upsets you when you read some bulls**t about your band. But it's just really good to see a country of people that don't even feel obliged to support you because they're not from your country. So I think New Zealand could do more to support New Zealand music- the media scene especially. There was a reviewer who gave us two stars and we were really upset and we thought s**t, we thought the album was good, what's up with that? But it was just this negative little motherf***er who gave Neil Finn two stars as well, so we just were just cracking up. And we were going 'OK, that's good,' because if we got five stars of this guy we'd be terrible! What does he like, if he doesn't like Neil Finn, you know?"

As much as you are correct in your statements, I'm not sure if comparing the Feelers to Britney Spears is at all balanced. I wouldn't compare them to the Doors either, but still....
Just had to ment ...

It's going to be reality that not all bands are going to make it, and this is regardless of talent in some cases. You could make terrible music and still heaps of records- look at all the plastic pop ...
