a lot of heat on the guy when he came here, but he's really won the city over. He is a stand up guy on and off the field. He's a tremendous offensive player and the Mets obvious team leader. A lot of people don't know this about Mike but he wasn't even the best player at his high school. He batted 8th I think for his high school team at one point. He was drafted in the 60th round, something like the1400th player drafted. He spent time in the Dominican League honing his skills and eventually making himself into a player. He's worked very hard to get where he is today.
BI: Do you have a favorite sports quote?
DK. Favorite quote. Let's see... A clean one? Ummm, I loved Caddyshack. There's a bunch there. How about Fassel's "I'm driving this bus."? That was a prophetic one. Yogiisms are great. I don't know, so many of my favorites are dirty. Let me get back to you on that one.
