Vortexes, Ley Lines and Grids, Oh My!

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW

Remember Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz?" How she longed to be anyplace other than Kansas (so do a lot of Chiefs fans). She longed to go somewhere over the rainbow, where skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true. But what did she learn in the end, children? Something about... your own backyard? If you don't quite remember, you can go to your local video store and get enlightened fast. Rent the movie. Watch it.

Learn.

We can find special places in the world that bring us closer to nature, closer to ourselves, closer to God. Quiet places of powerful beauty. Gentle places where the noise and hubbub of daily life vanishes into still, calm waters and pastel skies over rolling green hills. Hills you can roll down and not get yelled at. Places aged in antiquity with stories to tell about days long past.

But is it really the particular place that holds the power, or how we allow ourselves to be in that place? Open, trusting, willing. Only when we truly surrender and let go to the pulsing rhythm of life around us can we really know where to find God. Hard to do when the baby won't stop crying and the washing machine is banging against the closet door.

Peace then, the peace that passeth understanding, as the Bible speaks of, is to be found in any place where we can still the throb of busyness and tune our inner radio into the Divine - Radio GOD. So where, then, do we aim our antennae?
