Many people ask me exactly what a scientific or affirmative prayer treatment looks like, so I thought I would create an example utilizing the five steps I discussed in Part One, Scientific Prayer, Why it Works.
Watch your intention. Make sure you get to the essence of what you want. You don't want to pray to lose weight, but to be healthy (you could pray to lose weight and end up with a terrible disease that causes you to lose most of your body weight - answering your prayer, but not quite in the way you wish!!!) Don't pray for a particular love interest to come into your life, but instead pray for a loving relationship that is right for you, otherwise you might end up with the spouse of your nightmares instead of your dreams. So, say you are having financial difficulties and you want to experience a life that is more prosperous and abundant. Yes, that includes money, but it also includes finding work that you love and feeling worthy of receiving your good instead of pushing it away from you. Your prayer might look something like this: Recognition: I know that there is only one power in the Universe and that power is God. God is all there is, and is all good, and I now allow the presence of God to fill my consciousness to overflowing. Unification: Knowing that there is but one power in the Universe, and that I am a part of that creative power, I now am aware of my unity with God, and all that God is. I and God are one, co-creators of my reality. I am not separate from God, but always immersed in the presence of Spirit.
