What You Sow
Your actions always return to you, no exceptions; new, conscious actions=new results.
Success is simple to achieve in this world. You are already successful. You may not believe that because you've bought into some other person's or institution's idea of what success should be. And no, you can't always--if ever--control outside circumstances. But you can always control your responses to them by the way you speak, how you view yourself and the world, and through the kinds of actions you take. The following poem sums it up:
The Door of Dreams by Jessie Rittenhouse
I bargained with Life for a penny And Life would pay no more, However I begged at the evening, When I counted my scanty store.
For Life is a just employer; It gives you what you ask. But once you have set the wages, Why, you must bear the task.
I worked for a menial's hire, Only to learn, dismayed, That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have gladly paid.
You are free to be as successful as you choose. Even so-called failure is a form of success, especially if you're good at it. There's a chance you may fail, no doubt about it. But without that chance--free will demands it--there is no possibility of success, no real choice, no freedom. Besides, if you fail at one thing, there's always a new thing. Failing at a task does not make you a failure, unless you choose to see yourself that way. As Christopher Morley said, "There is only one success: to live your life in your own way." It doesn't get any freer than that.
Now you know the Real Secret to success. You can choose to stay where you are and how you are, or you can open to new and exciting possibilities. You can become your own success guru.
I say it's a no-brainer.
What do you say?
