Prayer: Spiritual Superstition or Spiritual Science?

The key is to reach the stage where the affirmation feels true to you. Until it feels true, it has not yet become part of your reality. When it becomes part of your inner reality, it then appears in the outer world of form.

Is this all gobbledygook? There's only one way to find out. Do it. The only thing you'll lose if it doesn't work is time. If it does, you'll not only gain that for which you have affirmed; you will gain a whole new perspective on life. And that, my friend, is the real reason for answered prayer. Things come and go, but realization, awareness, awakening last forever!

Oh, and by the way, just to throw a little oil into the water, did you know there is also a negative side to prayer? I highly recommend the book "Be Careful What You Pray For; You Just Might Get It," by Larry Dossey. Check it out along with the suggested reading below.

I particularly recommend Faith and the Placebo Effect by Lolette Kuby. It's a real eye-opener.

More suggested reading: Handbook of Positive Prayer by Hypatia Hasbrouck (Unity Publication) and The Power of Your Subconscious Mind-Rev. Ed. by Joseph Murphy (Reward Books, Imprint of Prentice Hall, c. 2000)
