How to Make Magic: The Miracle—and Joy--of Uncluttering"He who knows he has enough is rich." Lao Tzu I offer you some simple ways to make your life better. Use them as you will. Your experience will undoubtedly be different from mine, but I am willing to bet that they will be positive. Uncluttering your physical surroundings: Get rid of expired medicines and coupons, outdated clothes, old makeup and sunscreen, broken things (unless valuable), odd socks, old restaurant and shopping guides, old calendars, spoiled food, rusty stuff (like utensils, tools, or cans), old grocery bags, travel literature and old maps, etc. Anything useable, of course, you can donate to worthy causes. Check under your beds, up top in the closets, tool sheds, garage, cellar. Eliminate by throwing away, recycling, or giving usable stuff to the charities of your choice. "When you die, the only thing you can take with you is what you've given away." Anon. Uncluttering your intellectual life: Watch less TV news. Most of it is geared to generating ratings, not providing facts. Don't let 30 minutes of glitzy, polished "presentation" ruin your day. There is actually better news in the newspaper, after you get past the first three pages. Don't pay too much attention to the first two pages in particular. They're pretty much the same as TV: meant to grab your attention rather than present meaningful info. "When your life is working, there is an absence of drama." Uncluttering your emotional/spiritual life: The two main destroyers of peace in our hearts are fear and unforgiveness. I present to you a 3-step, simple method to deal with fear: Admit it immediately. Don't let it bore deeply into your consciousness. Look it in the eye; thank it for doing its job of protecting you. Make it your ally. A fear is only a belief and a belief is only a thought you keep thinking. Think a new thought! Forgiveness is for the forgiver. It lets YOU off the hook, not the perpetrator. YOU release the poison of resentment, bitterness, and the need for revenge. YOU replace those feelings with joy and peace and happiness. Then, YOU can begin to make a real difference in the world. The rest of us need that kind of energy from YOU. Your essence is love. And dat's da Troof! Results: more energy, more peace, more joy, more fulfillment, and MORE ROOM FOR MORE MIRACLES IN MORE AREAS OF YOUR LIFE! "Life is not a collection; it's a celebration!" J. Q.
