Sugar Bowl Frenzy

© Westley Annis

The New Year is here and everyone in New Orleans is stilled geared up for the party. This year promises to keep the party going just a little bit longer as Florida State University and Virginia Tech battle it out in the Nokia Sugar Bowl for the National College Championship.

The city is already buzzing with fans from Virginia Tech with Florida State fans expected to arrive Monday for the big game on Tuesday.

Everywhere you look is the site of people wearing maroon. Whether it is maroon and orange for Virginia Tech or maroon and gold for Florida State.

You can keep abreast of all the excitement by visiting the Sugar Bowl area of nola.com with feature articles from the Times-Picayune. http://www.nola.com/sugar/

You can also sound off on your favorite to win the Sugar Bowl from their Sugar Bowl forum, or if you can't watch the game on TV, catch play-by-play action as it happens on the web site also.

To stay abreast of all the celebrations you can view one of the four webcams that are set up in and around the French Quarter. Take your choice among them here http://www.nola.com/bourbocam/ sponsored by the Cat's Meow.

There's plenty of excitement around for everyone to start this year off with a bang!
