Holiday Shopping Guide

Has it been a year already since you scoured the earth looking for the perfect holiday gifts for your loved ones? Yep and it's time to do it all over again! I've been doing some scouring of my own for shops where you might find those perfect gifts.

Need a unique gift idea for the man in your life? How about a tie? Right about now you're probably wondering why I would suggest the oldest Christmas gift cliché in America. Stop by Miller Bros. - Newton of Keene and you'll see why. These ties are different! They offer a huge selection of novelty ties that match a man's hobby or profession. Is your hubby a dog person? With 36 breeds represented, you are sure to find a tie sporting his favorite breed. Is Dad a sailor or a history buff? They've got you covered. They also have ties for boys between the ages of seven and fourteen with many sporting themes. You will also find a nice selection of ladies' scarves with a variety of themes such as the Book of Kells, the Weekend Gardener, and the Bayeaux Tapestry. Although you can't order online, you can browse the catalogue, make your selection, and call in your order.

The Old Farmer's Almanac is the place to shop for the gardener, history buff, or music lover on your list. While there are many copycats, the almanac sold here is the original Old Farmer's Almanac of Dublin, NH first published in 1792. Gardening tips, recipes, and the famous long-range weather forecasts are still the heart of this fascinating annual. Versions of the Almanac specifically custom-made for particular regions of the United States and Canada are also available. Of course, the store offers many other gift items including replicas of older Almanacs, a mouse pad sporting the cover of the Almanac, cookbooks, calendars, and music. The music is limited to two selections but they are unique. A Celebration of the American Farm features a "collection of traditional and contemporary music inspired by the spirit of the family farm." The other selection is Christmas at the Almanac Music Hall and is offered on CD, cassette, or 33-1/3 rpm vinyl LP! Sample tracks for both are available for listening. Old Farmer's Almanac store orders are placed online only.

The next two stores are part of the New Hampshire Made organization. After you see these, I think you will be tempted to visit the New Hampshire Made "store front." Here is the list of shop categories:

Hi, Tina. This is a charm. Charms are little images that are made and handed out as gifts, so this is a gift for you:
