Winter Fun in New Hampshire
February 7 & February 8 - Snow shoeing under the full moon at Squam Lake. Feb 10 - The second annual Mickey Dude Foundation' s Winter Golf-on-Snow Open at Loon Mountain to raise money for CASA. February 24 - Winterfest 2001 in the North Country March 18 - Cardboard Box classic Sled Race Lots of winter events can be found at Visit NH or NH Events. Type in a date and view a long list of events. Visit NH also contains links to sites that report skiing and snowmobiling conditions. Of course, as any New Hampshire kid knows, if you've got a pair of skates and a sled, or anything that can pass for skates and a sled, there's a place nearby to meet up with friends and have a good time. If Mother Nature hasn't provided the necessary ice or hill within walking distance - that's no problem. An old garden hose is the only equipment needed to make an ice rink and a bunch of kids with shovels are the only equipment needed to make a sled run. Oh, one more thing. Watch out for snowballs!
