Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel

The Christ Path does not make of us executors of God's will on earth as if God himself could not impact reality without the help of earthly agitators - theological capitalists who are convinced that God is politically conservative, the founder of capitalism as the best mechanics for universal prosperity and the author of exclusion and persecution in His name.

The Christ Path does not assume that God has so limited the correct living of life that He remains willfully silent and non-communicative to humanity, stubbornly and somehow divinely refusing to respond to prayers or questions - insisting instead that the Bible is all there is and all we need.

The Christ Path does not insist that we justify ourselves in this century by the enticing simplicity of literal interpretations of only those Bible verses that suit our agendas.

In it's only and highest usefulness the Bible remains a writing intended to facilitate and bring forth a greater ability to know God rather than extract from within its pages some form of written mandate that lets us lazily refuse to live in the gray reality of the present - insisting instead that everything is either black or white.

Experienced writers will tell you that your most honest and potentially most effective writing is that driven primarily by what you know best.

Someone who has never lived a rural life is not likely to write well about life in rural America.

Someone who has never physically fought in battle is not likely to write well or convincingly about what combat is or what war really looks like.

The writings I have offered on the pages of Suite101 have come from my experience within. Whether written well or not what I have written reflects the things I've come to know and understand about spiritual living in our modern context with its massive gray center bounded on each side by black and white delusions of clarity.

In closing, I must be the first to admit that Suite101.com has been the cradle in which my desire and effort to write has been nurtured.

Suite101 members have joined in my education by participating in discussion threads with every single participant planting in my interior world a seed of perspective I may not have had previously.

As each seed has grown, it feels like rather than carrying a mental weed-patch of competing thorns, I now depart and continue on my own Christ Path
