LOADED GUN
At times, the book reads more like a series of magazine articles than a true effort to produce a book with information about Nordan's past. Too many names, Nordan goes for the punch line, and he tends to wander off the topic at hand. Born and raised in the Mississippi Delta, Nordan's seven books of fiction have all been set in the South. He has a large following of devoted readers, although his books have seldom threatened to make it to the bestseller list. Boy With Loaded Gun should attract readers who have enjoyed his novels. Otherwise, I wouldn't use it as a launching pad for jumping into Nordan's novels.
