Of course, there are a variety of cures that are effective in opening up the living space to the flow of auspicious Chi energy, some of which are quite thorough. The Feng Shui Institute of New Zealand, for instance, offers a complete cleansing ritual to clear blockages and revitalize Chi energies in the personal environment.
To help determine the most auspicious placement of possessions, the living space is divided into sections known in Feng Shui as baguas. Each represents an area of life and corresponds with a color and element. The Southeast corner facing inward from the front door, for example, is the wealth area. Purple, red, green and blue are good colors to be represented here, along with any object symbolic of wealth, such as coins or jewelry. Wood is the ruling element of this bagua, so a walking stick or bamboo wind chimes might also be auspicious in this area. Likewise, the Northeast corner of the home is the area of knowledge and governs personal development and spiritual pursuits. This is the perfect place for meditation and relaxation, and the colors black, blue and green should be in evidence. Since earth is the ruling element, stone and ceramic items will be auspicious here. Shapes, pictures, patterns and textures all play a role in good Feng Shui, as do the individual's personal auspicious colors, numbers and elements. So, while it's impossible to list all of the cures applicable to each bagua in every situation, the following basic correspondences provide a general guideline to balancing Chi energy in the home: North = Career = Water - black, all dark colors For a more in-depth approach to the placement of objects within the baguas, including the calculation of auspicious numbers and the integration of color, shapes, textures, and other elements, a visit to Geomancy.net is highly recommended.
