No matter which restaurant you choose, you won't go wrong. But if you're just visiting, you may want to stay several days to try each!

The Silver Club

Located just across the street from The Nugget on Victorian Square in Sparks, the Silver Club offers a quieter atmosphere than most of the other casinos around. This is our casino of choice when we decide we want to go out and enjoy a little gambling. The people are friendly and we all join in, rooting for each other when we spot a winner. And, when we're played out and ready for lunch or dinner, we head to one of our two favorite restaurants at the Silver Club: the Steak Buffet or the Town Square.

The Steak Buffet doesn't begin until 4:00pm. If you check online, you can often find two-for-one specials. While a very small buffet, it's a good deal as besides the main buffet itself you can also have as many made-to-order New Yorks as you'd like.

Whenever we stayed in town, prior to actually moving here, we nearly always had breakfast at the Town Square Restaurant. Very down-home meals like omelets, steak-and-egg combos, ham-and-egg combos, pancakes and french toast, and much more. The lunches are also very good and well-worth ordering. Again, you'll find old favorites like french dip sandwiches, club sandwiches, burgers with fries, and some very tasty steak dinners.

Western Village Casino and Hotel

There used to be a restaurant here called Pancho and Lefty's, and it's too bad they removed it as it was a very good Mexican food eatery. In its place is the newly designed Vineyard. I have to admit, we haven't cared very much for the items we've eaten here, but we're hoping that the menu will pick up, as the other restaurants at this casino are very good. The Marina is a family-oriented coffee shop offering all the old favorite sandwiches and burgers, plus they have some very good specials that change often.

The Steakhouse though, is, bar none, my family's favorite restaurant in town. The service is fantastic and we always request seating with our favorite serving team. These guys truly help make every meal a great dining experience. And what dining choices! You begin your meal with an appetizer, if you have chosen one. While I'm not crazy about them, my mom and grandmother always get the steamed clams as an appetizer. I prefer the shrimp cocktail, and still plan on eventually ordering the bacon-wrapped scallops. Next, comes your choice of soup or salad. Even if you choose salad (their spinach salad with hot bacon dressing is outstanding), make sure you request at least a cup of the soup to try. Changing daily, the soup is always perfect. Finally, your entrĂ©e. Better request that doggie bag, er, box. The steaks can't be beat and Mom and Grandma swear that the prime rib is the best they've had. My daughter and I prefer the steaks, and choices include New Yorks, sirloins, filet mignon, T-bones, and a huge, 26-oz.-monster-Porterhouse. Seafood, chicken and pasta choices also adorn the menu. Although always stuffed to the point of bursting by the end of our meal, we just can't help ordering a dessert to share. Heck, you pass the cart on the way to the table—how can you not order one? Mousses, cheesecakes, flambe's, and home-made ice creams, and each artistically presented with lovely drizzled fruit sauces and more chocolate.
