In the tradition of Philadelphia's monopoly on being recognized as THE current "Soul Capital" a 29 year old DJ and long time Music Producer sets to pick up the mic. Yes indeed, it is LIME TIME for young Vikter Duplaix (pronounced DOO-PLAY). While it is true that Mr. Duplaix is absolutely no rookie to the Music Industry, Producing hit songs, or Composition and Arrangement there is one thing that is fairly new for him. Performing.
Eventhough Vikter is a well noted behind-the-scenes Producer, Arranger and Composer it took him five plus years to step into the lime light. Now, for all of you "Johnny-Come-Lately's" Vikter had a previous release in the United States entitled 'DJ KICKS'. Obviously his success in the UK convinced his friends that it was time to expand his horizons. Trust me, his list of friends and Industry execs are as long as a DC 20 Aircraft! He has worked with LEGENDS such as the late, great Phyllis Hyman, Soul Stars such as Jill Scott, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Bahamadia, Hip Hop Legends De La Soul,and the UK's up and coming stars such as 4 Hero.
So, if you missed 'DJ KICKS' then you want to play catch up. Let me fill you in. It's a hip-hop jazz fusion with a distinctive sequence of contemporary mixes and sounds. It is influenced by some of the United Kingdom's up and coming gifted artists like New Sector Movements, 4 Hero, and Space K. Collectively the sound meshes old groove Acid Jazz, House, and Nu Jazz. While we are on the subject of Nu Jazz Vikter's single "Sensuality" is a spectacular fav!
Vikter Duplaix is an extremely creative force and he has set out to release his second effort entitled 'International Affairs'. The time of producing hit after hit for an entourage of other artists is currently on the back burner. Armed with the gift of production and a scrumptious voice, Vikter is ready to enter stage right and soak up some lime.
