[dangelo] D'Angelo is: Heralded by many as a well rounded and a well-grounded musical legend in the making. Affectionately known to the boyz in the hood as " D" or to the hopeful flocks of female fans; "D'ANGELo," soulful singer D'Angelo along with his uncanny sex appeal has grabbed our attention and kept it from Brown Suga's release to Voodoo. As sensual as he is seductive, D'Angelo mixes sex and sound down to a science. Here's the equation: 13 beautifully arranged tracks + those full, luscious lips + one sleek, well-oiled and sprinkled bare-naked D'Angelo video= Voodoo. This hot album is guaranteed to push you into an altered state of mind. D'Angelo never leaves the roots behind. On this sophomore effort he is riding high on diversity. There is literally a track for everybody. For the Hip Hop Head Method Man and the Fonk Docta Spock blesses you over D'Angelo's satin vocals on the track titled "Left and Right." He promises not to steer you wrong-so far so great. For all the Funksters out there ( with a twist of pimp) "Playa Playa" leaves the everlasting impression that D'Angelo has been dyin' to "set it off...'cuz I [he] don'to plan to stop." So, " later for you Haters." Aint nothin' sweet. I say play on , play on. For those who like a little of the old mixed with the new D'Angelo revamps the hit "Devil's Pie." If you're askin'' why- listen to this stellar track. He's got the answer. While we're on the subject on phat tracks and vocals, I wouldn't be doing you justice if I didn't give you the skinny on joints like "The Line" and "One Mo 'Gin." "The Line" is a direct confessional and "One Mo 'Gin" is clearly a testimonial to a love he was once missin'. Can't help but to wonder who that luck lady is,right? "The Line" projects vivid imagery leaving the idea that this sexy sun of a gun has his finger on the trigger! He makes it clear that he is not afraid because the pressure is on. He's holding your attention hostage as he takes you further into the zone of the unveiling of the man. Just as you get into an upbeat hypnotic groove he makes sure the roof is on fire with "Send It On." Believe me, you don't need no water.... This tracks infectious run of Bass Guitars coupled with D'Angelo's soul stirring intonations make this one a favorite to program into the into the system when it's time to turn out the lights.
