What fun would it be without predictions? So, for Best R&B Single (male and female) are Prince for "Call My Name" and Beyonce Knowles for "Naughty Girl". Why? Even though I would LOVE for Charlotte, North Carolina native Anthony Hamilton to win, none -not even the ultra sexy Usher- can top Prince. We ARE talkin' (arguably) the GREATEST of his time. It's a tough call. But, somebody has to to it! The Mecca Donna choice for Best Album (male and female) goes to Prince for "Musicology" and Jill Scott for "Beautifully Human..". I simply ADORE Jill Scott and props are OVERDUE! Now, I know R.Kelly fans are FURIOUS at my choice and Philly natives are boiling over at the Musiq look over. Simply put, they all can't win this one. Going up against Prince in any category is a death sentence. Best R&B Group Album goes to Destiny's Child for "Destiny Fulfilled" for a reunion well done. Best R&B Single for New Artist goes to the American Idol Homegirl from North Carolina, Fantasia for " I Believe". Best Dance Cut goes to the "Princess of Crunk" Ciara. Best Video goes to the President of Def Jam Jay-Z for "99 Problems".
