Beautiful Flower has some definate classic qualities about it. It boasts an outstanding display of vocal arrangement. Ayanna took harmony and melody to another level by combining cascading notes to make one solid sound. She even took it one step further to improve the vocal presentation on her debut effort. She teams up with a full choir on the album's title track,'Beautiful Flower'. Following current trends in R&B, Ayanna makes Rap and Soul a wonderful mesh on this track. Rap newcomer Optimus blesses the track and gives the song a little egde.
Not many people can successfully do a re-make and make it sound so good. Ayanna made it happen with ease. She did a stellar rendition of not one but two Stevie Wonder songs. She did a version of "Feeding Off The Love of The Land" and "They Won't Go."
The over all vibe of Ayanna album puts you in the mind frame of acoustic Soul Music. 'Beautiful Flower' is meticulous with its array of instrumentation. She is getting compared to fellow Soulstress, India Arie because of her use of Acoustic Guitar. Sometimes, it's overwhelming but undoubtedly Ayanna Gregory should be proud of her debut album. This is one promising artist with a wonderful debut.
