Set the doll aside, and pick up the HAT piece. Sew a gathering stitch along the cut edge of the HAT piece. Gather the cut edge, then push the cut edge of the fabric to the inside of the hat. Sew along this gathered top. Cuff the hat, as desired, and place it atop your doll's head. Secure the hat to the doll if desired (my daughter wanted hers loose so she could change hats when she wanted).

Now you get to paint or embroider the face. My favorite part! I used paints to make pink cheeks, big blue eyes, and a red mouth. Tie a ribbon around your dolls neck, give her a hug and a kiss, then make a little girl happy!

(Copyright Note: The pattern was adapted by me from one that I found in an old Crafter's Choice catalog. Feel free to share my version, and definitely feel free to make dolls to sell or to give to charity.)
