Part II: Model Stitching for Your Local Needlework Shop - Page 2© Lori J. Seaborg
Gather some of your favorite pieces that you have finished - just 2 or 3 will do - to take to the shop. If you are applying to stitch for a shop that is far away, send them a sample of your best stitching. The sample should be at least 3"x3" and include several examples of the stitches that you can do. Be sure to include a SASE so they will return your sample!
4. When you talk to the LNS owner/manager, be sure that you are both clear about what is involved: * Are the supplies provided at no cost? * When is the model expected back at the shop? * How will I be paid? When? * Who will keep the model after it is taken down from display? * Are there any framing costs, if the model was framed for display? * HAVE THIS WRITTEN DOWN! It is your insurance. Finally, join this Yahoo! group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/modelstitch , which you will find invaluable as you begin model stitching. Go To Page: 1 2
