Williams Sets Mark in Texas Win

SOUTHERN 26, GRAMBLING 14 - In the first Bayou Classic played without Eddie Robinson on the Grambling sideline in 57 years, Sam George threw three touchdown passes in the second half to give Southern its third Southwestern Athletic Conference championship in six years. It was Southern's sixth straight win in the Bayou Classic, which each year is punctuated by the halftime "Battle of the Bands".

IN OTHER ACTION... - Arkansas 41, LSU 14; Michigan 48, Hawaii 17; Mississippi St. 28, Mississippi 6; Nebraska 16, Colorado 14; Penn St. 51, Michigan St. 28; Syracuse 66, Miami 13; Tennessee 41, Vanderbilt 0; Tulane 63, Louisiana Tech 30; and West Virginia 52, Pittsburgh 14 in the "Backyard Brawl".

GRID GUESSERS UPDATE - Your fearless prognosticator didn't have the recipe for success this Thanksgiving, suffering a 2-8 week to fall to 35-30 on the season (.538). With 49 games needed to qualify after our Thanksgiving blitz, it appears that this has become a two horse race. Eric Nichols takes the lead after a 6-4 week. Nichols is currently 43-22 (.662) on the season. Following him, also posting a 6-2 week, is Shawn Taylor (36-24, .600). No other Grid Guesser currently qualifies to win the contest.

Well, this will be the final week of the contest before the Bowl Games. The three guessers with the best records following this week will be eligible to compete in the final stage of the contest. Preference will be given to those who meet the minimum of 53 games.

This weeks picks: TEXAS A&M over KANSAS STATE in the Big 12 Championship; TENNESSEE over MISSISSIPPI STATE in the SEC Championship; AIR FORCE over BYU in the WAC Championship; MARSHALL over TOLEDO in the MAC Championship; NAVY over ARMY.
