Some of the guys who will be interesting to watch in the future are Bender, Maggette, Dion Glover, William Avery, James Posey, and Leon Smith. These guys have the potential, but their skills have not yet been fully harnessed. In addition, Glover missed the entire of last season for Georgia Tech due to injury. It remains to be seen whether these players can shine or whine on the bench.
The 1999 Draft was one especially for guards. Many teams got what they wanted or needed, while others left Chicago wishing they had a higher draft pick. Perhaps the Bulls have gotten the core for another dynasty. Maybe the Hawks have deepened their team a bit. Perhaps the Sonics will miss the playoffs again. It is unmistakably clear that underclassmen rule the draft nowadays. So much for senior maturity. Hopefully, college teams will not lose their luster, and that the NCAA game will still showcase the best players in the country. Go To Page: 1 2
